The defendant was arrested by agents of the state department of Justice and charged with intentionally offering to have non-marital sexual intercourse for a thing of value, to wit: $25, in violation of sec. 944.30 (1), Stats. The defendant was found guilty, following a jury trial, and sentenced to pay a fine of $500 plus costs. In the trial court the sole question was whether the defendant had been denied the equal protection of the laws as guaranteed by the fourteenth amendment of the United States Constitution. When this contention was denied by the lower court and judgment of conviction was entered, followed by an order denying her motion for a new trial and for vacating the judgment, defendant appealed.
